ONTARIO BADMINTON OFFICIALS' ASSOCIATION (OBOA) and the NATIONAL OFFICIALS' CERTIFICATION PROGRAMME (NOCP)

OBA Officiating Clinic - For those that would like to become an umpire, for tournament organizers and for players - Saturday 22nd, Sunday 23rd October at K-W Badminton Club, at the K-W Oktoberfest tournament.  For more information, email val.butler@ontariobadminton.on.ca.

Badminton officials are an integral part of the sport, providing players and coaches with unbiased decisions guaranteeing fair play for all players. Benefits of being a badminton official include officiating at major provincial, national and international competitions, gaining a better understanding of the Laws of Badminton, earning respect from players, coaches and colleagues, and continuing life-long involvement in badminton.

Running a tournament requires a good knowledge of the rules.  Competitors expect an answer to some of the tricky court situations that can arise.  The OBA runs clinics for tournament organisers, players and those wishing to work as an umpire or a referee.  Clinics are advertised in the events calendar and in this information section.
